Our Zonta Club of Prince George’s Area is a 501(c)(4) non-profit service organization and is committed to advancing the economic, educational, legal, political, and professional status of women in Prince George’s County through local service projects and scholarships. Our works range from giving educational scholarships to young women to providing mentoring, clothing, supplies and support to local family crisis centers and domestic violence shelters. Zonta was founded in 1919 and evolved into a global service organization to advance the status of women worldwide. Zonta International’s member history includes amazing women like Amelia Earhart and comprises more than 31,000 members in 64 countries and geographic areas.
Zonta International’s more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs work to eradicate violence against women worldwide through programs such as Zonta International Strategies to End Violence Against Women (ZISVAW). The Zonta Clubs of Prince George’s County have joined Zontians throughout the world to volunteer our time, talents and support to touch the lives of women worldwide and right here in our local community.
